Caribbean Community Group - Hulme

North West

We donated

One of the volunteers at a local community support group for the elderly was thrilled when she thought our Hulme store's community champion Angela McIntosh had donated £500 ... so watch this video to see her reaction when she realised the cheque was actually for £5,000!

Angela had gone along to help at the African Caribbean Care Group's Christmas party when she presented the group's chief executive Dorothy Evans with the £5,000 grant from the Asda Foundation.

Dorothy said: "Being able to work with Asda has been absolutely fantastic."

Community Solutions - Accrington

This group helps various people who suffer from loneliness, isolation, ill health and also provides a befriending service. They have had a lift installed and just needed the remaining monies for the lift to be connected. They also needed an evacuation chair.

Warrington Salvation Army - Warrington

The Salvation Army provides a service for the elderly who are collected and brought to the centre where they can take part in activities and also receive a lunch. It is also used for the Dementia group. The money requested was for a new minibus as the old one is at the end of its economic life.
